Luna’s portrait is a collaboration between the talented photographer Lisa Heinrichs, the animal shelter Iserlohn (GER) and myself as an artist. In the preparations for a solo exhibition in 2024 I decided on including a special portrait to raise awareness and money for a local animal shelter. My dear friend Lisa kindly provided me with a lot of stunning reference pictures she was taking for the mentioned animal shelter in our area, and eventually I decided to paint husky lady Luna which was at that moment in the shelter. During my process of creating the artwork she luckily was adopted to a new forever home! The artwork’s purpose of raising awareness for the many beautiful souls in animal shelters was greatly met during the exhibition, and I’m happy to say that 60% of the artworks price will be donated to the shelter, to help more animals find a loving home.
